Das Abfallaufkommen wird vermindert.<br \/>\nDer <strong>Gesamtenergiebedarf ist drei bis viermal niedriger<\/strong>, als der f\u00fcr die Papierherstellung aus Holz.<br \/>\nDie Art des Energieeinsatzes f\u00fcr die Produktion von Recyclingpapier ist noch optimierbar (bis hin zum vollst\u00e4ndigen Einsatz klimaneutraler erneuerbarer Energietr\u00e4ger).<br \/>\nDie Ressource Holz wird geschont und steht f\u00fcr andere Nutzungen zur Verf\u00fcgung. Die Fl\u00e4chenkonkurrenz wird vermindert.<br \/>\nDie Entlastung der globalen Waldressource bedeutet (zum Teil indirekten) Schutz von Prim\u00e4rw\u00e4ldern, Erhalt der Biodiversit\u00e4t und des Lebensraums der lokalen Bev\u00f6lkerung.<br \/>\nSekund\u00e4rfaserverwendung bedeutet &#8220;Papier der kurzen Wege&#8221;, und damit geringere Energieeins\u00e4tze f\u00fcr den Transport.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00fcr die Produktion von einem Kilogramm neuem Kopierpapier (200 Blatt &#8211; Prim\u00e4rfaserpapier) werden ca. 50 Liter Wasser und circa f\u00fcnf Kilowattstunden Energie verbraucht. Die <strong>Produktion von Recyclingpapier<\/strong> hingegen ben\u00f6tigt <strong>nur etwa 50 Prozent an Energie und nur rund 33 Prozent der Wassermenge<\/strong>. Au\u00dferdem werden pro Kilogramm Sekund\u00e4rfaserpapier bis zu 2,2 Kilogramm Holz eingespart.
